Rudolf Steiner was born in Austria on 27 February 1861 to Johann Georg and Marie Frederike Steiner who were both farmers. He died on 30 March 1925 at the age of 64 years old.
In 1891 he founded the General Anthroposophical Society; in 1913 he became the founding president of what is now called Waldorf Schools; and in 1922 he established Camphill Villages. Steiner’s work has largely focused on education as well as agriculture and medicine.
