Robert Frost was born in 1874 in San Francisco, California. He is one of the most celebrated American poets of the 20th century. Frost attended Dartmouth College and Harvard University, where he began publishing poetry. After graduating, Frost taught at Amherst College for nearly two decades. He traveled extensively throughout the United States and Europe, giving public readings of his work. Frost received numerous awards and honors during his lifetime, including four Pulitzer Prizes. His poems have been published in countless magazines and anthologies, and he is widely studied in schools and universities around the world. Frost died in 1963 at the age of 88.
