The spiritual path wrecks the body And afterwards restores it to health. It destroys the house to unearth the treasure, And with that treasure builds it better than before. — Rumi

Although the road is never ending take a step and keep walking, do not look fearfully into the distance… On this path let the heart be your guide for the body is hesitant and full of fear. — Rumi

What does this patch–sewing mean you ask? Eating and drinking. The heavy cloak of the body is always getting torn. You patch it with food and other ego–satisfactions. — Rumi

This mirror inside me shows. I can’t say what, but I can’t not know. I run from body. I run from spirit. I do not belong anywhere. — Rumi

You are not your body; you are the eye. When you see the spirit, you are free of the body. A human being is an eye–the rest is just flesh and bones. Whatever your eye sees, you are that. — Rumi

Love is the cure, for your pain will keep giving birth to more pain until your eyes constantly exhale love as effortlessly as your body yields its scent. — Rumi
