John Wesley was born in 1703 in Epworth, England to a religious family. Wesley’s parents were passionate about their faith and made sure that John and his siblings were also devoutly religious. When Wesley was only eighteen, he felt called to ministry and began preaching sermons. What followed was a lifetime of ministry work during which Wesley founded the Methodist Church. Despite struggles with ill health, Wesley continued working until his death at the age of eighty-seven. Through his example, we can see that it is possible to have a life devoted to God and fulfilling one’s mission.
