Frank Lloyd Wright was born on June 8, 1867 in the small town of Richland Center, Wisconsin. From a young age, he was interested in architecture and engineering, and eventually attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he studied engineering. After working for a few architecture firms, Wright opened his own studio in 1889. He soon became one of the most renowned architects in America, with many famous buildings to his name. Wright continued to design unique and innovative buildings until his death on April 9, 1959.
