Ernest Hemingway was born on the 21st of July, 1899 in Oak Park Illinois. His father Clarence Edmonds Hemingway was a physician and his mother Grace Hall Hemmingway loved to read. He had two siblings: Marcelline and Madelaine.
He attended high school at the Oak Park and River Forest School system where he met writer Sherwood Anderson who encouraged him to write for himself and not care about what others thought of it.
